when you’re trying not to cry. I know what’s important to you,
and your weird sense of humour because I have it too.
I know what you’re still healing from, and that we’ll never run out
of things to say, (even though we rehash the same thing 100 times.)
I know you’d celebrate my wins without question, and the way you
take your coffee. I know the foods that don’t agree with you,
and the songs that will get you dancing.
I know that no topic is ever off limits, and I know even if we don’t
speak for a while we will pick up where we left off, life is busy,
we both know that. And I know that no matter how life changes,
how we grow and become, there will always be a version of ‘us’
sharing our lives with each other.
I may not know your favourite colour,
but I love knowing you.
