they hear your silence, and don’t wait for the open.
They look past the weeds, they bring heart and home
their flaws, and their truths,
what a thing to be known.
We show up for these friends
in the summer and the blue
There’s no one else I have to be than me
when I’m with you.
And we give them our lives, our laughter, our pain,
we promise them time to the very last train.
Here’s to the ones we choose to keep near
and how a love story begins right here."
